Sévane Ananian joined the Research Department of the International Labour Organization (ILO) in September 2021, where he works as a Senior Economist. His research focuses on wages and working conditions, as well as labour market inequalities. His work contributes to the ILO’s policy-oriented research agenda on decent work, inclusive growth, and social justice.
Prior to joining the Research Department, Sévane served as a Wage and Social Dialogue Specialist at the ILO Office in Cairo. In this role, he provided technical assistance and policy advice to governments and social partners on wage-setting mechanisms and minimum wage policies, supporting evidence-based policy design in African countries.
Before joining the ILO, he worked at the statistical services of the French Ministries of Labour and Health, where he also served as rapporteur for the French Minimum Wage Expert Group.
