Expertise

Mr Tite Habiyakare is a Senior Statistician at the International Labour Organization (ILO) and is currently working as the regional advisor on labour statistics for the ILO Asia and the Pacific Region since February 2012.

He started working with the ILO as a statistician since 2002, including on topics such as child labour statistics and child labour programmes and projects. He worked as ILO technical advisor on child labour statistics in offices such as Dar-es-Salaam (Tanzania) covering Eastern and Southern Africa, Dakar (Senegal) covering Western Africa, and as labour statistician in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) and in Pretoria (South Africa) covering Eastern and Southern Africa regions.

He has also previous 6 years of working experience with the UN (1996-2002) where, as a statistician-demographer, he contributed at various capacities (surveys of conflicts affected populations, refugees’ registration, reconstruction, etc.) in UN peacekeeping missions. He worked particularly for UN missions in the Balkans (5 years) where, as a UN technical advisor he contributed, among others to re-building the Statistical Office of Kosovo.
