Elizabeth Echeverría Manrique is labour governance officer at the ILO Office for Mexico and Cuba.
At the ILO where she has served for over 11 year, she has been Specialist in Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining in the International Labour Standards Department, as well as a Labour Law Officer in the Governance and Tripartism Department and a Research Officer in Labour Law in the Research Department.
She is the author of various publications on the links between international trade and international labour standards, decent work in supply chains, among other topics. Before working as an official at the ILO, she was a labour lawyer in Mexico from 2006 to 2013.
Elizabeth holds a law degree from the Tecnológico de Monterrey and two master's degrees, one in labour law from the Universidad Regiomontana and a double master's degree in international law with a specialization in trade and investment from the University of Heidelberg in Germany and the University of Chile.
