Expertise

Dorothea Hoehtker is a historian specialised in ILO and labour history. As a Senior Researcher she is responsible for historical research and collaborations at the ILO Research Department. She holds a PhD from the Ecole des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (Paris) and has previously worked for the German Forced Labour Compensation which has compensated former forced labourers under the Nazi regime.

She has coordinated academic research for the ILO centenary in 2019 and produced the two official centenary publications for the ILO. Her current research focuses on the history of the environmental debate in the ILO and on key ILO concepts such as social justice.
