Abstract
This policy report explores the extension of social security coverage in Egypt, with a special focus on self-employed and informal workers, as well as employees in small private enterprises. It draws on insights from the ILO’s Norway-funded project “Egypt Youth Employment: Economic Empowerment under Forsa Programme” (EYE Forsa) project, which aimed to promote self-employment opportunities for beneficiaries of the Takaful and Karama cash-transfer programmes.
