Abstract
This report is a situational analysis produced to support the development of the National Labour Migration Policy and Action Plan for the Republic of South Sudan. Its purpose is to lay the groundwork for a comprehensive, rights-based migration framework by systematically assessing the country's current context. Specifically, it details the socio-economic conditions and labour migration trends in South Sudan, examines the existing national legal and institutional frameworks, identifies critical governance and protection gaps, and ensures that the future policy will align with national development goals and international commitments, thereby guiding South Sudan toward safe and orderly migration management.
