Based on a survey of 349 child porters from rural and urban areas of Nepal. Investigates the background of these children, examines their working conditions and estimates the incidence of child porter work in the country. Discusses the causes and consequences of the use of child porters and makes recommendations for policy interventions in the areas of prevention, protection and rehabilitation.
