Based on one of several surveys that have been undertaken by the ILO and its sister UN organizations since the tsunami struck in December 2004. Two of the main objectives of the NASIR were: to understand the extent to which livelihood recovery is processing in tsunami-affected areas, and to ascertain the most important needs for livelihood development.
