Abstract
This report provides a comprehensive overview of minimum wage systems and wage-setting practices across Pacific Island Countries (PICs). It examines how national frameworks are structured, how they have evolved, and how they align with international labour standards. The report also explores the socioeconomic and labour market contexts shaping wage policies in the region, including the challenges of small, dispersed and climate-vulnerable economies. Drawing on country case studies, it offers insights into governance arrangements, institutional capacity and policy coherence. It also emphasizes the importance of ensuring adequate wages that balance the needs of workers and their families with economic factors.
