Abstract
Describes a general model of mutual guarantee associations (MGAs) and examines experiences of their operation in developing countries. Investigates the structure and activities of Italian MGAs and presents the findings of a project to determine whether there is scope for the establishment of the Italian model of MGAs in five Arab countries.
