Abstract
Based on surveys of platform workers conducted by the ILO between 2017 and 2020, the paper examines some of the opportunities and challenges faced by platform workers in G20 countries. It then explores some of the regulatory gaps with regard to platform governance, and reviews some of the policy initiatives undertaken by governments and social partners to address these gaps and to ensure decent working conditions for platform workers. The final section concludes and presents some of the policy recommendations for discussion.
