Abstract
Better Work Vietnam’s latest annual report highlights factories’ assessment results, improvement efforts, and key initiatives from the past year. Our report details how Better Work Vietnam has expanded by more than 7.5% in 2019. The programme worked with the ILO Vietnam office to support the government in the development of a new Labour Code and has been educating managers and workers in its implementation. Many clothing factories are now facing serious challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although the long-term impact is difficult to predict, social dialogue and compliance with labor laws are key for the ongoing development of the country. The 2019 Annual Report has a revamped design, intended to enable quick insights for readers into the recent progress and remaining challenges in the garment sector in Vietnam.pj
