Abstract
Better Work Jordan’s latest annual report highlights factories’ assessment results, improvement efforts, and key initiatives from the past year. The report details how Better Work Jordan facilitated and provided legal guidance to the most participative Collective Bargaining Agreement process to date, accelerated its collaboration with Ministry of Labour inspectors, and increased awareness and inclusion in factories by supporting hiring of greater numbers of workers with disabilities. Many clothing factories and workers in the country are now facing serious challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Better Work has conducted over 700 calls with migrant workers in their native languages to raise awareness on how they can be protected and prevent the spread of the virus. This report, with a refreshed look, draws attention to Better Work Jordan’s ten-year journey since its inception in 2009 as well as its future vision, highlighting efforts to forge new partnerships and nurture existing ones.
