Abstract
The traditional practice of cash payments has long prevailed among workers in Jordan’s garment industry, notably limited to a minority within larger exporting factories receiving digital payments. However, the landscape swiftly shifted during the COVID-19 pandemic, catalyzing a rapid transition that encompassed the entire sector. Bolstered by governmental support across ministries and regulatory adaptations, the adoption of digital payment methods became increasingly viable. This study aims to swiftly assess and glean comprehensive insights into the experiences and perspectives of workers regarding prevailing wage payment methods. Additionally, it delves into the multifaceted financial realities encountered by both female and male workers in these factories, unveiling diverse economic landscapes within the industry.
