Abstract
This Brief captures the discussions at the Regional Forum on Demographic Shifts and the Future of Work, held in Bangkok on 29–30 January 2026, where more than 80 participants from eight EU-ILO Future of Work APAC partner countries came together to exchange experiences and identify practical policy responses. Rather than restating the scale of demographic change, the Forum focused on what to do about it: closing the gap between the skills young people have and the skills employers need, and rethinking what a working life looks like in an ageing society.
