Article on working conditions in the provision of meals and Hotel industries in Japan - based on two sample surveys (1979 and 1980), discusses wages (incl. Wage incentives and fringe benefits), hours of work, weekly rest, night work, paid leave and pension schemes, provides comparisons with the retail trade and tourism industry, and finds Hotel worker (incl. Woman workers and part time employmenters) conditions to be unsatisfactory.
