Abstract
This study examines the impact of several dimensions and characteristics of work teams on their performance. To assess how various diversity factors (e.g., nationality, first language, team size, and managerial function) affect team performance, stepwise regression was used. The research sample consisted of 911 sales teams of an international corporation operating in 39 countries. The findings show that work teams’ diversity in terms of nationality, first language, team size, and managerial experience has a significant impact on their performance. The study also highlights the broader implications of integrating variables connected with diversity into performance analyses.
