Abstract
Article on the effect of economic recession in Western Europe on employment opportunities for woman workers - shows that a worsening of women workers' position in the labour market has occurred, partly due to women's concentration in a narrow range of low-skill occupations, and partly due to institutional handicaps such as seniority benefits, lack of access to training, etc.
