Abstract
Based on a survey of the top 500 corporate users of information technology (IT) in the USA from 1995 to 1997 and on company disclosure reports. Investigates the effect on companies' output of investment in IT skills. Finds that greater intensity of IT skills among employees in the overall workforce results in increased productivity at the firm level.
