Abstract

minimum wage standard of living income distribution developed countries developing countries
Comparison of the role of minimum wage regulations in raising the standard of living in developing countries and in developed countries - author argues that such role is more circumscribed in developing countries due to greater inequality of income distribution, the smaller proportion of wage-earners and the fact that those likely to benefit from minimum wage legislation enjoy living standards above the lowest.
