Article on the obstacles to labour force participation of rural women in developing countries. Covers landlessness, the impact of land reform, cultural factors resulting in lack of decision-making power regarding work or income, and lack of labour mobility. Points to a need for community level projects with outside help to overcome illiteracy and act as catalysts for income generating activities, work at home, and self reliance.
