Theoretical article on the use of reduced hours of work for employment creation and to offset structural unemployment in developed countries - discusses production factors in terms of weekly labour costs, hourly wages and labour supply elasticity; finds that reduction of working time may be detrimental to small scale industry and cause labour market segmentation.
