Summarizes the findings of a project carried out by researchers from 11 countries who investigated changes in labour relations systems. Identifies patterns common to all the countries studied, particularly in regard to management attitudes, labour flexibility, further training and declining union membership. Identifies differences within countries regarding work organization, job security, wages and workers representation. Discusses new methodologies and priorities for future research.
