Article on the employment creation impact (esp. Agricultural employment) of the Brazilian ethanol energy programme (PNA), fostering sugar cane agricultural production (agribusiness) - assesses direct employment of agricultural workers and industrial workers (in distilleries) by skill level and by number of seasonal workers for 1980 with projections to 1985, discusses substitutability of agricultural labour between harvest season and off-season, and considers wages of semiskilled workers and unskilled workers.
