Article on the impact of technological change on the social protection of performers since the 1961 Rome Convention - examines the role of ILO in introducing further measures for the protection of performers; discusses illegal practice of private sector broadcasting, television programmes' sound recording, video recording, trends in communications satellite and cable television, problems of copyright, fees for secondary performances, etc.
