Article on the advantages and disadvantages of the introduction of agricultural machinery in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, and the effects thereof on the employment of rural workers - discusses the effect of the introduction of tractors on productivity and labour productivity in agriculture and concludes that in the small farm sector the economic justification for mechanisation depends on the land to labour ratio concerned.
