Abstract
Article on the use of on-the-spot visits and ILO Missions for implementation of the role of ILO in promoting and supervising the application of ILO Conventions and ILO Recommendations in respect of freedom of association and in other areas - outlines the general supervisory and complaints procedures, and the special procedures set up to examine cases concerning freedom of association and discrimination, and contrasts different types of visits (fact finding missions by independent bodies, direct contacts, special missions or enquiries)
