Abstract
Describes the data coverage of the ILO's October Inquiry, a worldwide survey of wages and hours of work conducted since 1924. Identifies problems of inconsistent reporting and presents a method for transforming the data for 1983-1999 into a consistent file on pay for 161 occupations in over 150 countries.
