Abstract
Article examining the nature of urban area unemployment and income distribution in developing countries and suggesting policy alternatives for increasing the employment opportunities for unskilled workers and semiskilled workers - concludes that the best alternative is to encourage labour intensive industry by means of wage incentives, tax incentives and labour intensive export promotion.
