Abstract
Article discussing the need for changes in attitudes towards working life (work attitudes) in view of promoting social welfare - considers the impact of technological change on work attitudes, and the encouragement of individual initiatives inside and outside the work environment; identifies preconditions for attitudinal change, such as access to information, access to education and respect for fundamental freedoms; comments on the limits and future of welfare state-oriented social policy.
