Abstract
Article on the concept and definition of the right to work in ILO Conventions and ILO Recommendations and labour legislation of ILO member States - traces the development of the concept in the 1919 ILO Constitution, 1944 ILO Declaration of Philadelphia, 1948 UN Declaration of Human Rights, and 1984 ILO Recommendation No. 169 on Employment Policy; gives a comparison (table) of the Constitutions of ILO member States where the right to work is recognised; discusses difficulty of application of ILO Convention No. 122 on employment policy.
