Abstract
Article on international experience with minimum wage fixing and its role in wage determination - covers the use of minimum wage to protect vulnerable groups of low income workers, to determine ' fair' wages, to set a basic floor to the wage structure, and as an instrument of macro-economic policy to alter wage structure in line with objectives of economic growth and income distribution.
