Abstract
Article on employment trends in the Mexico City urban area - examines its economic development and industrial development from 1921 to 1980, showing how the rapid population growth of the urban population through extensive rural migration and high birth rates affected employment patterns, and analyses the roles of industrial policy and population policy in employment policy-making.
