Abstract
Article examining professional workers and their problems in terms of existing social theory and social policies, with particular reference to developed countries - discusses the nature of intellectual work, sociological aspects, working conditions, the role of trade unions, job satisfaction, etc., and comments on relevant ILO Recommendations and ILO Conventions and the need for changes in labour legislation.
