Abstract

State ratification ILO Convention constitution judicial decision treaty government attitude conflict of laws ILO Constitution USA International Australia Canada
Examines the influence of the 'federal clause' in the ILO Constitution, as amended in 1946, on the ratification record of the three countries. Finds that the main effect has been to encourage ratification through closer co-ordination between the federal authorities and the constituent states.
