Abstract
Describes the approach used in the ILO's People's Security Surveys (PSSs) for assessing the actual and perceived security and insecurity in people's lives, particularly in relation to their work and livelihoods. Examines the eight forms of socio-economic security targeted by the PSSs (non-work-related, basic security and seven forms of work-related security), outlines the content of the Survey questionnaires and suggests possible extensions for future PSSs.
