Abstract
Examines the importance of expansionary fiscal and monetary policies as short term measures to minimise job loss during an economic downturn and argues that, in the long term, promoting decent work means focusing on education and training, labour market flexibility and continued globalization. Looks at issues of global social justice in relation to trade and labour standards.
