Abstract
Summarises the proceedings of the second ILO/France Symposium (Lyon, January 2002). Focuses on two main topics: the implications for statistics, public policy, collective bargaining and labour law of the increasing frequency and diversity of transitions between employment and non-employment; and reconciling career and family life.
