Article on the extent of employment and types of working conditions of rural women in developing countries, with a view to development projects intended to integrate woman workers in rural development - focuses on female social status and social role in subsistence farming (unpaid work), agricultural employment and as plantation workers, considers women's rights to land ownership and equal opportunity programmes, the impact of technological change in increasing their workload, etc.
