Article reviewing different union security provisions in developed countries and developing countries with special emphasis on Closed Shop, Union Shop and agency shop - discusses the rationale behind historical trends and current practices, incl. Compulsory checkoff, introduction of safeguards against unjustified dismissal, etc.
