Abstract
Article on the impact of circular rural migration on labour market segmentation and labour market efficiency, comprising a case study of the construction industry in Manila, the Philippines and Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea - discusses the features of construction worker temporary employment, and argues that the internal labour market in Manila increases efficiency by providing relative employment security, improving skill acquisition and inducing a sense of commitment among migrant workers.
