Abstract
Our article provides an analysis of green jobs’ quality in France, applying on a large representative database a definition of green jobs that emerged in the last years. Using regressions and classification techniques, we show that green jobs display lower job quality than non-green jobs, especially for low-skilled workers who experience lower wages and socio-economic security. High-skilled workers show either better or not significantly different job quality compared to their non-green counterparts. Our analysis also reveals the heterogeneity of green jobs dispatched in four clusters with various job quality levels, challenging the narrative of ‘good green jobs’.
