Article on the impact of 1964 agrarian reform on rural migration trends in the sierra of Ecuador - argues that the change in agrarian structure resulted in reduced agricultural income in small-scale farms thus inducing short term internal migration of low income agricultural workers (seasonal unemployment) to urban area temporary employment, therefore contributing to high economic growth while avoiding excessive urbanization.
