Abstract

employment unemployment labour market
This brief provides a comprehensive analysis of the latest global labour market trends. It focuses on the evolving relationship between labour and capital income, challenges facing youth in the current job market, and progress towards key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as 2030 approaches. The September update of the World Employment and Social Outlook 2024 finds upward pressure on inequality as the labour income share stagnates and a large share of youth remains out of employment, education, or training. It also indicates slow progress on key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as the 2030 deadline approaches.
