Abstract

This brief reviews progress in gender equality in the world of work over the last 30 years, with a focus on management and leadership representation. It examines long-term trends and recent developments since the global pandemic, and key issues shaping the future of work for women and men, namely care and family-friendly policies, and the environmental, social and governance (ESG) framework. Finally, it highlights the private sector’s vital in advancing gender equality in employment.
