Based on case studies of the migration-development nexus for three Asian countries, finds that trust, reputation and networks of highly skilled workers has contributed to developing IT activities in their home countries. Discusses how the respective governments helped or should help in this through appropriate measures in science and engineering education, R&D, provision of financial incentives, granting of dual citizenship, etc.
