Abstract
Summarises international legal instruments and policy initiatives concerning the right to work of persons with disabilities and outlines the options available for those who wish to work in open/competitive employment, sheltered employment, supported employment and social enterprises. Examines approaches adopted at the national level to assist people with disabilities in securing employment and identifies areas which still require attention. Proposes provisions for the proposed UN Convention.
