This document provides an overview of the ILO's recent and ongoing work on the social and solidarity economy (SSE) in the Latin American and Caribbean region. It reflects the ILO's constitutional mandate to promote social justice and decent work through cooperatives and the SSE in general, taking into account the diverse realities and needs of Member States, as well as the varying levels of development of the SSE, and relevant international labor standards.
