Abstract
Comprises a systematic conceptual investigation of social exclusion. Uses a multidisciplinary approach to identify three key paradigms which generate different beliefs and responses in different settings: solidarity, specialization and monopoliy, and discusses the economic and social dimensions of these paradigms.
