Abstract
Reviews the development of the US labour movement in the 1990s and analyses restructuring at the three leading US unions and looks at some common themes in the restructuring efforts of these unions. Identifies a series of overarching challenges and sketches how the labour movement might reposition itself to regain a more central place in America society.
